My boyfriend offered to take me engagement ring shopping, so of course I was SUPER excited. I was under the impression that we were JUST LOOKING. It was the first time we had ever gone together to pick something out. We spent nearly 2 hours in the jewelry store learning about diamonds and looking at loose stones and we went in with a budget. I was the one that gave the budget right when we started. Of course sales people up the amount they want to sell and I thought we were just looking so I picked out my dream ring. My BF didn’t object to the price of items and was just going along with it. The sales lady got my ring size and told us how she wanted to mount the stone and then she made me go look at men’s wedding bands so that she could “talk business with my BF about $$”
We go to leave and my BF tells me thta he doesn’t know what he just did but he put a deposit down on my ring! (Which cost WAY TOO MUCH) I asked why he would put $ down on something that he knew he couldn’t afford. He tried to act like it wasn’t a big deal but then he asked me to go back in by myself and pick something cheaper out…. or to get his $ back! Now come on you know I am excited and I told my Mom that he had bought a ring and now he is basically making me return it! he also spoke to his Mom who told him to get his $ back… I am upset, he said he still wants to look but I am so disappointed.It’s like he just changed his mind about proposing.
