I had a good friend who worked at a well-known diamond retailer. I could purchase my jewelry through her at cost. The markup was close to 400% on most items. (That’s four hundred percent - just to clarify.)
Example:
Diamond ring I wanted that cost $1000.00 -
could buy it through my friend for $250.00
That’s a BIG difference.
Hope this helps. Of course, the markup will vary for each retailer and quality of the diamond.
It depends on the cut, color and clarity. It can start as low as $100 and go as high as you can imagine. The lower the clarity, cut and color the lower the price.
